It is 52 km long, and its drainage area is 705 km2.

It’s source is near the village Zotiko, in the southwestern part of the Ioannina regional unit. The Acheron flows into the Ionian Sea in Ammoudia, near Parga.

The Acheron also features prominently in Greek mythology, where it is often depicted as the entrance to the Greek Underworld where souls must be ferried across by Charon.

This particular river is ideal for rafting for all ages, for beginners and families.

We start from sivota at 9 in the morning, in one hour we are in the village of Glyki, we start the River Trekking, through the narrows of the acheron where we will find the first springs. The water is freezing, but that’s normal. The route to the gorge lasts from half an hour to an hour and a half, depending on your physical condition, and the return is the same (you need to know how to swim, otherwise you should definitely mention it to the office manager and write it down on the form that will fill in when the booking is complete).

After the River Trekking, we make a stop to enjoy a coffee or soft drink on the Snack Bar close to the river, and then start the rafting for about 15-20 minutes, depending on the river flow, return to our starting position, and start for Sivota. We’ll be back by 4pm. The cost of participation is 150,00€ per person, with a minimum of 2 people, for families (up to 3 persons) there is a discount.

n

Since 2018

Our guide is Professional Mountain Leader, Rafting Guide (certified by International Rafting Federation), First Aid Certification, Wildereness First Aid Certification (certified by Emergency Care & Safety Institute) and Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Certification (certified by Rescue3 Greece – Rescue3 Europe)

Enjoy

Your Next

adventure

Flexibility in starting time

Min 3 people

Children are allowed +5 years

All equipment include

Booking request for acheron river

select from the fields below, and we will contact you as soon as possible

THE ACTIVITIES

Above Sivota, at the top of the mountain is the old settlement of Vrachonas, at an altitude of 600 meters, overlooking to the >>>

Rafting is a team sport that you do on an inflatable boat down a river.
